THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
The FOL, founded in 1976, is a non-profit support
group that raises funds for the library. It’s sole
purpose is to enhance the quality of the Library’s
services and collections through its memberships and
fundraising activities. Money earned through these
activities is used to purchase additional books and

very reasonable prices. The store is staffed by
volunteers, and all sales proceeds go to Library
Friends board meetings are held on the second Thursday
of the month at 4:30 pm in the Multi-Purpose Meeting

Here is your opportunity to give pleasure to others
while preserving the memory of a special person or
honoring someone you admire. Through the Friends
of the Winter Haven Public Library, Inc., you can
establish a perpetual Book Endowment, or donate the cost
of a single volume.

ANNUAL MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION DRIVE
The annual “Be a LibraryYSweetheart”
magazine drive is held throughout the month of February.
Patrons may select a magazine from the Library's list
and donate the cost of that magazine, or make a
contribution of any amount. A list of magazines
and the cost of each is available in the Friends book
store. Due to space limitations, the Library
requests that only magazines on the list be chosen.

ANNUAL WALK AND RUN
Annual Rock, Walk and Run race is held in Winter Haven to
benefit the Children’s Department of the Library.
OF THE LIBRARY BOOK REVIEWS
6-month series, running October through February, features a wide variety of relevant and
provocative books, reviewed by well-known community
members and leaders. Book Reviews takes place on
of the month, at

book prior to the review is not necessary but welcomed.
